Now, even though Cay Health Foods has been in downtown Bakersfield for over SIXTY YEARS, you may not
be familiar with our little shop.  I'll tell ya straight up - we're small.  We like small.  We think it enables us to give
you greater personal service, better products, and a comfortable place to shop.  Besides, there's enough of the
big impersonal stores around.

Small does not mean empty.  We've got a lot of good stuff to choose from including natural foods and baking
supplies.  We have the widest selection of herbs of any store within 60 miles of Bakersfield.  Not only do we
have well over 100 herbs you can buy by the ounce, we have a wide selection of essential oils, carrier oils,
empty bottles and jars.

We've chosen Jarrow Formulas, Nature's Life, Solgar, and KAL as our primary vitamin and mineral lines.  
We feel these companies have a commitment to quality raw materials, good manufacturing practices, and
competitive prices.

If I've learned one thing in my 27 years as owner, it's that no one store can carry everything.  If there is
something you want and we don't have it, please give us the opportunity to special order it for you.  Try out that
excellent customer service I was bragging about in the first paragraph.

Finally, thanks for giving us a try.  Our store was founded by an unheralded leader in the health industry. James
Cayford established Cay Health Foods in 1948 in Bakersfield at a time when there were probably no more
than a half dozen "health food stores" in the entire country.  We take continuing his commitment to excellence
and serving the people of Bakersfield very seriously and hope you will see that reflected in our store.
